Witness to shooting incident collapses and dies

A witness to a shooting incident at a shopping centre in Nelspruit in Mpumalanga on Thursday afternoon‚ in which a man was seriously wounded‚ has collapsed and died‚ paramedics said. The incident occurred at a shopping centre on Samora Machel Road in the town. “ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at approximately 12h00 after backup was requested by local authorities.“Upon arrival‚ a man was found lying on the pavement‚ surrounded by a number of onlookers and local authorities.“Paramedics assessed the man and found that he had sustained two gunshot wounds to his chest‚ leaving him in a critical condition‚” said ER24 spokesman Russel Meiring.He said the man‚ understood to be in his 50s‚ was treated and provided with advanced life support interventions before he was transported to the Rob Ferreira Hospital for urgent care.“It is understood that a woman who had apparently witnessed the incident collapsed in one of the shops. Paramedics were called to assist and treat the woman. Unfortunately‚ after some time the woman was declared dead‚” Meiring added...
