A 14-year-old has told police a former Proteas cricketer abducted and assaulted him in Cape Town‚ leaving him needing hospital treatment. Eyewitness News reported on Friday that police had confirmed opening an assault case against the 35-year-old cricketer. The teenager’s sister said the boy and his friends had been shouting at passing cars outside Pinelands High School on Wednesday. She claims the former cricketer grabbed him by the throat and pushed him against the car, demanding to know what he said. The ex-cricketer allegedly smacked the boy around in the car, then drove around with him for several minutes before dropping him off at the school. The teen was treated at a nearby hospital for cuts and bruises on his face.Responding to EWN via WhatsApp‚ the ex-cricketer said: "How can I assault a 14-year-old in front of my kids? I took the 14-year-old to Pinelands High School and reported him for swearing me and throwing little stones in my car."Pinelands High School principal Dave Campbell was not available to comment...
