Police spokesman Captain FC van Wyk said on Saturday that the officer had appeared in Bellville Magistrate’s Court. The case was remanded until September 30 and the officer was released on R5‚000 bail.

A 40-year-old officer from Strand police station was arrested at his home on Thursday‚ and the third arrest happened on Friday at Macassar police station‚ when a 50-year-old was taken into custody.
