Elephant injures ranger in Ladysmith

A game ranger was injured while loading an elephant into a container during its relocation at a private game reserve in Ladysmith‚ KwaZulu-Natal on Tuesday.ER24 paramedics were alerted to the incident by emergency staff at Medi-clinic Pietermaritzburg."Medi-clinic staff and ER24 paramedics immediately began preparations to receive the patient‚ who was being flown in by a private helicopter. Once landed‚ ER24 paramedics unloaded the patient and immediately rushed him into casualty‚" said ER24 spokesman Russel Meiring.Medi-clinic hospital staff assessed the man and were relieved to find that he sustained only moderate injuries to his legs and chest."ER24 paramedics left the patient in the care of hospital staff for further treatment‚" Meiring said.
