Man dies in N1 crash a day after his birthday

A man who was killed in a collision on the N1 near the Olifantsfontein offramp between Centurion and Midrand on Friday had turned 32 the day before. The driver of the car‚ who was celebrating his birthday on Friday‚ is in a critical condition‚ according to emergency service ER24.The car they were travelling in collided with a truck near the offramp.“It is understood that the pair were trapped in the vehicle following the collision‚” ER24 said. “Sadly‚ there was nothing that could be done for the passenger.”Traffic was heavily backed up in the area.The exact cause of the incident is unknown.
