Residents of Mmakau Village in the Madibeng municipal have been without water for seven days.

It is still not clear what caused the disruption‚ but the area has over the recent years experienced similar problems.

Last year‚ residents staged countless protests demanding that the municipality provide them with water.

eNCA carried a news story exposing allegations of tender-rigging when a local business person was awarded a tender to supply water through tanks.

It was also revealed that there could have been sabotage leading to taps running dry so as to enable the businessman to tender for water supply.

The municipality in the North West Province was not available for comment.
