The arrest of Fees Must Fall leader Busisiwe Seabe on Tuesday for “asking too many questions” trended on Twitter‚ with some calling for her release and others saying the arrest was long-overdue. Seabe was one of two students arrested for‚ police spokesman Kay Makhubela told TMG Digital‚ contravening a court order obtained by the University of the Witwatersrand which prevents more than 15 people gathering.“Essentially‚ while students were protesting‚ the police started throwing stun grenades at students…I was busy with an interview with eNCA‚ and then when I enquired about an arrested student I got arrested for asking too many questions‚” Seabe said. She was also seen in eNCA footage shouting‚ as the police van she was put in drove away‚ that: “We won’t not be deterred‚ we will continue to fight for free education whether we are arrested or not.”Xiletelo Mabasa ‏@SHEleteloMabasa remarked on Seabe’s composure:I love how Busisiwe Seabe still still speaks so calmly even after she's been arrested https://t.co/JynF2icD4M— Xiletelo Mabasa (@SHEleteloMabasa) October 4, 2016 Precious ‏@PreLaModa wasn’t surprised by her post-arrest demeanour: I know enough to say Busisiwe Seabe is a strong fearless lady, can't bring her down!— Precious (@PreLaModa) October 4, 2016 Maano Shammah ‏@Maano_Dzunpat suggested that the chairperson of the Economic Freedom Fighters‚ who is also an advocate‚ would assist her in court:we have @AdvDali_Mpofu and the @EFFSouthAfrica leaders i'm certain that they will protect your as an activist #Fees2017 "Busisiwe Seabe"— Maano Shammah (@Maano_Dzunpat) October 4, 2016 Nonhlanhla M ‏@nohni suggested the arrest was a form of censorship:Of course they have to arrest Busisiwe Seabe. We have a culture of shutting down/mumming the truth + solutions. This is SA.
