Drowning suspected at Rocking the Daisies music fest

Police are searching for a missing 21-year-old man who may have drowned in a dam at the Rocking the Daisies music festival on Friday. Unconfirmed reports earlier in the day indicated that the man vanished after taking a swim in a dam at the event‚ which draws huge crowds of revellers to one of the biggest outdoor camping bashes in the country. Some 250 acts are scheduled to perform at the festival‚ held at the Cloof Wine Estate in the town of Darling in the Western Cape.Police spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Andrè Traut told TMG Digital: “This office can confirm that police are searching for a 21-year-old man who has possibly drowned in a dam at the Rocking the Daisies Festival in Darling this morning. The identity of the man cannot be released at this stage.”Organisers of the event were not immediately available for comment...
