In a strange coincidence for Transport Minister Dipuo Peters‚ she arrived at a testing station in Benoni on Tuesday just as the Hawks pounced on 14 officials there. "The Hawks and the RTMC crime prevention unit were on track to arrest the perpetrators of these criminal activities there."All the officials that were arrested worked at the DLTC. These centres have a reputation for fraud and corruption as motorists often bribe officials in order to get documents without following due process.Mnisi said the charges to be faced by the officials would be released by the Hawks at a later stage. He said the minister was pleased with the arrests."Definitely‚ this is what we have been saying as the department‚ that we have to get rid of criminal elements from our system. The purpose of the visit by the minister was to see for herself what is happening there and to witness the service that our people are receiving daily‚" Mnisi said. - TMG Digital..
