Jaws of life used to extricate man who crashed into house

Fire and rescue team used jaws of life to extricate a man who crashed into a house wall in Carletonville‚ on Saturday night‚ ER24 said.

It is understood that the man‚ believed to be in his 20’s‚ lost control of the vehicle‚ went over a pavement and through a fence before crashing into the house.

There was extensive damage to the house and the front of the vehicle.

Fire and rescue had to use the jaws of life to extricate the man from the vehicle.

Upon assessment of the patient‚ paramedics found that he sustained multiple severe injuries.

He was treated and transported to hospital for further medical care‚ ER24 said.

Authorities were on scene for further investigations.

Following this incident‚ ER24 paramedics attended to another incident in Carletonville involving a bakkie that had driven through a property fence and garden before coming to a halt.

The driver and passenger were uninjured.
