One dead after car and truck collide head-on on R59

A head-on collision between a truck and a light motor vehicle on the R59 between Vaal River and Vaalpark left one dead in the early hours on Wednesday morning. “Shortly before 1am‚ paramedics from ER24 Vereeniging arrived on the scene where they found the truck and the light motor vehicle scattered across the scene‚” spokesman Werner Vermaak said. “The driver of the light motor vehicle was found with fatal injuries. Sadly‚ there was nothing that paramedics could do for him and he was declared dead on the scene.”The two people in the truck sustained moderate injuries‚ and were treated “for multiple scrapes and bruises before being transported to Mediclinic Emfuleni”. ..
