WATCH: Shocking moment protesting student falls from police Nyala and is nearly run over

Shocking footage has emerged of a #FeesMustFall student falling from a police Nyala and nearly being run over during the protests outside Parliament on Wednesday.

Thousands of students and their supporters, including pastors and parents, congregated at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology and timed their march to merge with other protests heading to Parliament where Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan delivered his medium-term budget policy statement.

The peaceful protest turned violent, with burning rubbish‚ smashed shop windows and roads littered with rocks were left behind in the aftermath of clashes between protesters and police.
