Abducted Soweto toddler reunited with his mom after being found in KZN

Soweto police have announced that the 14-month toddler who had been kidnapped in Soweto on Tuesday night was found in Madadeni in KwaZulu-Natal on Thursday night.

Siya Mlambo was snatched by two men who took him during a robbery when his mother arrived home from work.

Police spokesman Mpande Khoza said police received information on Thursday that the missing child might be at Madadeni in Newcastle.

Police drove to KwaZulu-Natal and recovered the child‚ who was unharmed. His name had been changed.

Khoza said two men‚ believed to be cousins of the family‚ were arrested in Madadeni and a nanny was arrested in Soweto.

“We are still looking for one suspect who is on the run‚ but is known to us.”
