The protesting university students should not be treated as crazy‚ Chief Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng said on Thursday.

"A clarion call has been made by the students and none of us must claim to have a solution.

"We must never give the students the impression that they are crazy or ignorant."

"We must explain to them that there is a plan‚ clear plan."

Mogoeng was speaking at the O.R Tambo lecture in Johannesburg on Thursday.

"We all have to be constructively engaged on finding a solution‚" Mogoeng said.

"We don't want those institutions to be burnt down."
