Toy firearm found as suspects arrested after Goodwood robbery

Western Cape police are investigating the possibility of two men arrested on Tuesday night being involved in a string of robberies of fast food outlets. Three armed suspects entered a fast food outlet at Value Centre Goodwood at about 10.45pm “and held staff at gunpoint while they emptied the cash registers”‚ a statement said.“They fled the scene in a white Ford Telstar. However‚ their luck ran out when SAPS members were quick to respond to the incident.”One suspect managed to evade arrest‚ but the other two‚ aged 31 and 32‚ “were apprehended in possession of the stolen cash and a toy firearm”.“We are looking into the possibility the suspects could have been involved in similar robberies of this nature where fast food outlets were targeted‚” spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Andrè Traut said. ..
