Five injured in cash-in-transit heist near Witbank

ER24 said it attended to five people who were injured in a shoot-out during a cash-in-transit heist outside Witbank on Thursday morning. “ER24 paramedics‚ along with other services‚ arrived and found five vehicles on the scene” at the Van Dyksdrift and Goedehoop Road intersection‚ approximately 25km outside of Witbank‚ spokesperson Russel Meiring said.“A number of the vehicles had been riddled with bullet holes. One of the vehicles was a large cash-in-transit vehicle.”Four of the patients “sustained minor injuries while a fifth‚ a man‚ had sustained a gunshot wound to his leg”‚ he added.They were taken to hospitals in Witbank for further treatment.“Local authorities closed off the intersection to begin their investigation‚” Meiring said. – TMG Digital..
