Taxi driver killed in a road rage incident

An Eastern Cape taxi driver has been killed in a road rage incident involving another taxi driver following a head-on collision.

The two drivers chased each other down after the crash‚ which happened near East London’s Frere hospital‚ according to East London police spokesman Captain Mluleki Mbi.

“They caught each other near CTM and started struggling for car keys. The deceased was pushed‚ fell and hit his head on the tarmac. He died on the scene.” Mbi said a 36-year-old man has been arrested. The dead man was identified as Bubele Mvendaba (43) of Storny Drift‚ Amalinda.

The incident took place on the Amalinda Main Road in East London at about 5pm yesterday. Police have called for tolerance and calm on the roads following the death.
