13-year-old 'stabbed friend to death after argument during game'

A boy of just 13 has been charged with murdering a friend in Cape Town.

The teenager appeared in Athlone Magistrate’s Court on Monday‚ accused of stabbing a 16-year-old on Saturday in New Rest‚ Crossroads.

“The two had an argument while they were playing games‚” said police spokesman Constable Noloyiso Rwexana.

“It is alleged the suspect went to fetch a knife somewhere and stabbed the deceased. The deceased was transported to hospital where he later died due to his injuries.”

Rwexana said the 13-year-old was arrested on Monday morning in Crossroads.
