A Dutch cinematographer has captured amazing South African landscapes and wildlife in a YouTube video.

Jeroen Schrage‚ 26‚ made the three-minute video after driving 3‚600 kilometres in a rental car while on holiday in November and December. Schrage travelled with his aunt‚ Christina Venter‚ on a three-week journey that started in Pretoria.

The locations captured on the video‚ titled “South Africa — A World in one Country”‚ which has been shared thousands of times‚ includes Kleinmond Penguin’s colony‚ Cape Town‚ Hartbeespoort Dam‚ Blyde River Canyon‚ the Ann van Dyk Cheetah Centre‚ giraffes at Naval Hill in Bloemfontein‚ the Kruger National Park and Sabie River Lodge.

Schrage said it was an amazing trip.

“The country has beautiful landscape and wildlife. I have travelled a lot to other parts of the world but Africa stole my heart. The people‚ culture‚ food and natural landscape is amazing‚” said Schrage.

He said he used a drone and took helicopter rides to record the trip.

“It was my first time on a helicopter and filmed using a stabiliser on the outside‚” said Schrage.

Schrage said the responses he received to the video have been phenomenal.
