Elderly man found alive after missing for a week

A 69-year-old man has been found by the police search and rescue unit in Kuruman in the Northern Cape after he went missing last Sunday.

ER24 spokesperson Annine Dormehl said it was believed that the elderly man went looking for his cattle in the rain a week ago and never returned home.

“The man was allegedly found on the R31‚ 30 kilometres outside of Kuruman in the Northern Cape.

“ER24 paramedics were contacted by the police and when they arrived they found the man to be severely dehydrated.

“He was transported by ER24 to the Kuruman Hospital for further treatment‚” Dormehl said.
