An armed gang of around 15 men stormed the Lauds Foundry Equipment premises in Wadeville‚ Ekurhuleni on Wednesday morning‚ where they shot and killed one employee.

The staff were held up for an hour as the gang ransacked the place‚ taking stock‚ computers and the staff’s personal belongings.

“They arrived in a white truck while others came in on foot‚” an employee told Times Media.

“They shot our oldest engineer.

“The other employees had minor injuries‚” she said.

Staff were badly shaken by their ordeal‚ she added.

The business premises were also broken into several days ago‚ during which equipment was taken and the CCTV cameras were ripped out.

The cameras had not yet been repaired at the time of this robbery.

It was not immediately clear whether the two incidents were linked.

The staff member‚ who requested that she not be named‚ said they were still tallying up exactly how much the company has lost in both these attacks.

Police were not immediately available to comment on the incident.
