Three classrooms destroyed by fire at Cape Town secondary school

A fire destroyed three classrooms at a Cape Town secondary school on Saturday afternoon.

City of Cape Town Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman Tracey Whittaker said the alarm was raised at 12.23pm. Six fire engines went to Silverstream Senior Secondary in Manenberg.

“Three classrooms were destroyed by the fire‚” she said.

“No injuries or fatalities were reported. A fire investigator has been dispatched to the scene. The cause of the fire is undetermined at this stage.”
