Head-on crash ends in fireball on N3 in Johannesburg

Traffic was congested early on Tuesday‚ hours after a gruesome head-on collision that claimed the lives of two people on the N3 in Johannesburg.

A Ford Ranger that was travelling in the wrong lane of the freeway collided with a truck near the Marlboro Drive off-ramp just after midnight.

Both vehicles burst into flames‚ claiming the lives of both drivers.

JMPD spokesman Wayne Minnaar said that three lanes had to be closed to clear the accident scene but had subsequently been reopened.

“Traffic is very heavy on the N3 and motorists should use the M1 or M2 as alternative routes‚” said Minnaar.
