Two arrested for killing Bellville taxi rank marshal

Acting on a tip-off‚ on Friday night police arrested two men suspected of killing an older man.

Their arrest follows shooting at the Bellville taxi rank‚ where the older man worked as a marshal.

The men fled in a taxi and police gave chase. The taxi pulled over and arrested the two suspects.

A search of the taxi unearthed two guns‚ a .38 Special and a 9mm Star pistol with a filed of serial number.

A case of murder‚ possession of an unlicensed firearm and a prohibited firearm was opened.

The suspects will appear in the Bellville Magistrate’s Court on Monday
