A fireman was injured when community members stoned their vehicle on its way to a burning shack in Lawley, south of Johannesburg, emergency services said.
A fireman was injured when community members stoned their vehicle on its way to a burning shack in Lawley, south of Johannesburg, emergency services said on Friday.
The angry residents refused firefighters access to the burning shack as they accused the shack owner of being a cable thief, said Johannesburg emergency services spokesperson Nana Radebe.
The incident occurred at about 21:00 on Thursday.
One of the firemen was injured on the head and was treated on the scene. Another fire engine arrived and extinguished the fire.
