More South African artists would be included in the line up of international stars to perform at Fifa's World Cup Concert at Orlando Stadium on June 10, concert producers said.

Goldfish, Lira, Loyiso Bala, Kwani Experience, Steadyrock, Tumi Molekane, and 340ml were added to the list of local musicians that would be part of the concert, show producers Control Room said in a statement.

Earlier this month the producers announced that iconic local Jazz musician Hugh Masekela would join Freshlyground, the Parlotones, Vusi Mahlasela and the Soweto Gospel Choir in the line up.

They would join a host of international stars including Alicia Keys, the Black Eyed Peas, Angélique Kidjo, John Legend and Juanes.

Organisers included local artists after calls from the ministry of arts and culture for a line-up with more South African representation.

"I'm honoured to be part of this historic moment in South Africa's history to serve as hosts for the first Fifa World Cup on the African continent and the first concert associated with the tournament," Lira told organisers.

"I'm thrilled to be performing on-stage with this amazing group of African, South African and international artists – it's sure to be one of the best music events ever in Africa."

The concert starts at 4pm on June 10 and was expected to draw about 30,000 fans.
