Najwa sued for R1 million
Murderess Najwa Petersen is being sued for just under R1 million by one of the string of lawyers who represented her after she was arrested for the death of her husband, the Cape Argus reported.
Petersen is serving a 28 year sentence for her mastermind role in the 2006 slaying of her entertainer husband Taliep.
Cape Town attorney John Riley, who acted for her in one of her bail applications, was suing her and her three brothers, the newspaper reported.
One of the brothers, Waleed Dirk, had denied in court papers that he or his siblings owed Riley any money, saying they had paid a total of R815,000 in cheques, deposits or transfers, and at least another R200,000 in cash.
Dirk had also questioned the reasonableness of Riley's fees.
