Nurse's house petrol bombed

A nurse suffered burn wounds after her house was petrol bombed in Soweto in the early hours of this morning, says Gauteng police.

"One house belonging to a nurse got petrol bombed," said Inspector Kay Makhubele.

She suffered burn wounds to her hands but was not hospitalised.

"She said she was going to the doctor."

Her house and belongings were damaged in the fire.

The petrol bomb was thrown at her house around 2.30am in Protea Glen.

Makhubele said the police could not confirm if the incident was related to an ongoing public strike, which had been marred by reports of intimidation of non-striking workers.
