Gauteng licence bookings go manual
Gauteng's current drivers licence booking system will revert to the manual localised booking system, the province says.
"[We] apologise to the people of Gauteng for the inconvenience caused by the shortcomings of the centralised booking system for drivers licence testing," said department spokesman Thabo Masebe.
He said that from October 4 all bookings for drivers licence testing would be done at local licence testing centres, which involved the drivers licence candidate physically going into the centre to make a booking.
The centralised telephonic booking system would be suspended.
"The department of roads and transport will conduct a full investigation into the shortcomings of the current centralised system and make appropriate recommendations regarding the future of the system and any other initiatives to improve efficiency of the drivers testing booking system," Masebe said.
