Images of the Kia Niro concept car have been revealed ahead of its debut at the 2013 Frankfurt motorshow which starts on Tuesday.

Kia released "teaser images" of the car earlier this month, and suggested that the Niro "hints at a possible future B-segment contender".

The new computer-generated pictures show the Niro has Kia's familiar "tiger-nose" grille, framed with fluorescent yellow trim. There are also yellow accents on the tyres, wheels, and front and rear bumpers.

The Niro appears to have "ice cube" LED running lights at the front, similar to those of the recently launched Proceed GT, while the roof and side pillars appear to be created from one piece of polished metal.

Gullwing doors, bulging wheel arches and a low roofline give the Niro a sporty appearance, while the interior has a minimalist look, with a handful of switches and a one-piece moulding for the centre console and seats.

The Niro is one of a number of crossover concept cars Kia has created recently, including the Cub and Provo.

This suggests that a sporty, compact crossover, similar in character to the Nissan Juke, is due to be launched soon.
