Danny K to wed today

Multi-award-winning R&B star Danny K will marry former swimsuit model Lisa Gundelfinger in a private ceremony in Somerset West, Western Cape, today.

The couple, who have kept details of the wedding under wraps, got engaged during a candlelight dinner at the Londolozi game reserve, near the Kruger National Park, in November.

On Wednesday, Lisa tweeted: "Amazing having family and friends coming together from all over the world for the big day." She said that she was "over the moon".

Lisa's father, Billy, is one of South Africa's most famous divorce lawyers. He has represented, among others, empowerment billionaire Cyril Rama-phosa, former world champion boxer Baby Jake Matlala and Altron group chairman Bill Venter.

Danny K, whose real name is Danny Koppel, recently described his future father-in-law as "a lovely guy".

He added: "Over the past two years, I've got to know him well."

Danny K and Lisa have been dating since early 2010, shortly after his 2009 split from his former fiancée, model Lee-Anne Liebenberg, after a six-year relationship.

The entertainment at the wedding will include Danny K's band, Toy Soldiers, who this week tweeted: "We are in Cape Town for Danny K and Lisa Gundelfinger's wedding - it's gonna be incredible. Toy Soldiers locked and loaded - PARTY TIME."

Danny K's mother, Pam Koppel, who is also his manager, tweeted: "I feel blessed. My 91-year-old mama, family and friends have come all the way to Cape Town for the wedding."

Danny K, 34, and Lisa, 26, could not be reached for comment.
