At last, there's now Tinder for fitness fanatics

In a fitness-conscious world, it was only a matter of time. A digital start-up from New York has launched an app called Sweatt, which promises to match prospective partners based on their exercise habits.Described as "Tinder for fitness fanatics", Sweatt asks users to input the usual info required by dating apps - age, location, gender preference - as well as their more niche exercise practices: primary workout, favourite time to exercise, frequency of workout per week etc.The data produces a list of potential partners and presents this to other like-minded singles. Then, if someone "Sweatts" you, it could be the beginning of a long and athletic relationship.Founder Dan Ilani believes that "fitness is so much more than the time we spend working out."Our commitment to fitness dictates so many of the choices we make on a daily basis. Chances of compatibility are heightened when you choose to date people with shared interests, lifestyles and mindsets."It is the latest app to appropriate Tinder's quick-fire, swipe-right approach to dating. And with each of these would-be Tinders trying to carve out a market, Ilani had to find a previously untapped community. After realising how indispensable and time-consuming people's exercise routines have become, Ilani turned his attention to the runners and gym bunnies. His aim? To facilitate a fully-functioning love life for those already married to the gym."People have developed this love/hate relationship with dating apps," observes Ilani, "because while they are a great platform to connect, they are also filled with people who aren't serious and just aren't good matches."Instead of making life easier, they often feel like they create more disappointment. Sweatt solves that problem by bringing together a community of like-minded people." ..
