He faces two counts of corruption and defeating the ends of justice related to payments of at least R1.2 million he allegedly received from convicted drug trafficker Glenn Agliotti, former Hyundai boss Billy Rautenbach and slain mining magnate Brett Kebble.

Agliotti is the only witness to have testified so far, saying the payments made to Selebi were innocent gestures of generosity.

Selebi believes the case is a plot against him by the former prosecutions unit, the Scorpions, to prevent their dissolution.

Ah, more of Sad Sack Selebi!
Let's hope the prosecution writes off the drug dealer and puts a better witness on the stand!
Let's also hope that the said drug dealer is denied amnesty, due to his being miserly with the truth!

These Afrikaans Silks have identified a new source of endless riches. Defend politicans and other people playing nasty games and making independent fortunes out of it.

They charge up to R500 000 per day appearance manoey and the alleged crooks are paying it with pleasure - since they are clever enough to run circles around the NPA prosecutors.

Wish I was an SC in these trying times - I would be swimming in money and having a ball.

I saw somewhere on of the bloggers said that Afrikaners cannot find work overseas - they do not need to - they can make enough money locally when things get totally buggered up.

Anyone with needs to be prayed over, come forward, to the front at the altar,” the Preacher says.

Selebi gets in line, and when it's his turn, the preacher asks: “Selebi, what do you want me to pray about for you.”

Selebi replies: “Preacher, I need you to pray for my hearing.”

The preacher puts one finger in Selebi's ear, and he places the other hand on top of Selebi's head and prays and prays and prays, he prays a blue streak for Selebi.

After a few minutes, the Preacher removes his hands, stands back and asks, “Selebi, how is your hearing now?”

Selebi says, “I don't know, Reverend, it is only next Wednesday ..!”

I must have said something untowards when i merely stated that Selebi will get off the hook, Agliotti, lenient sentence, the lawyers will increase their profiles and the judge will have a book to write about after retirement and taxpayers money will all be gone and forgotten 2 years from the date this waste of time trial ends....now, why remove thats statement THE TIMES?

Sure. I'll do it. But you have to realise that there will come a time when I'll have to testify against you and put on a little sobbing show in court. If you can handle that, then we're good to go....
