ASA announced today that it has noted the ANC investigation into the Semenya debacle, in which the ruling found the sports body had acted irresponsibly regarding the gender verification tests conducted on Semenya.
“ASA appreciates the ANC's position on this matter, fully welcomes and accepts without any reservations the findings and recommendations of the task team,” it said in a statement.
The board will meet with the athlete, whose gender came into question around the time she became the world 800m track champion, along with “her family and government”.
ASA said it hoped “that this will bring closure to a very unpleasant episode for Caster”.
