Advocate Patric Mtshaulana, chairman of the bar, said the complaint was based on findings by former National Assembly speaker Frene Ginwala.

To ensure the matter gets heard, the chairman of Pretoria's ethics committee, Pat Ellis, will lodge a formal complaint against Simelane with the Pretoria Bar tomorrow on the same charge.

Simelane was appointed National Director of Public Prosecutions last week, succeeding Vusi Pikoli who was fired.

Simelane gave testimony at Pikoli's hearing into his fitness to hold office and Ginwala, who chaired the inquiry, questioned his conduct.

Whatever gave you THAT idea? Very interesting that if you do lose the vote at least the courts are there to help you run the country by remote!

What a waste of time and money. This a-hole is being protected by Jeff Radebe and no Bar Council will have the guts to kick him out of the profession!

Just the fact that Radebe vouches for him is sufficient reason to dibar him.

ANC said in a statement "Nothing will stop the appointment of Adv Menzi Simelane"

Now when ANC says that accept it

we all laughed at Juju when he said Helen should practice saying "Zuma my president" in front of a mirror every morning. so as to get aquainted with the term

what happened? now we all gonna say that till 2019 (2 terms kaloku)

Nothing will happen here. He will get the job (done), will do it badly(still to come), then get promoted even further.
Sit back and watch!

Should he get disbarred I wonder who is waiting in the wings.

Rumour has it some advocates with integrity have already turned down offers, as the position is so tainted that they know it will destroy their reputations.

What a sad state of affairs.

I wonder if the bar will be able to get access to the official enquiry into Simelane in order to make their decision.

If nothing else, the hiding of that report makes him seem muddied

And you're surprised, Majuka??? Don't you remember the 100% Zulu T-shirts that were issued to all and sundry?
If that not factionalism then I dfon't know what is.
Not only is the ANC a racial party (catering for blacks with the odd paler face thrown in for good measure) but it is now fast becoming a Zulu party.
What will all the other sheep do come the next elections? What a dilemma they will face!

Amazing how the Zuma govt embrace disgraced lawyers. Sisulu has her fugitive from US justice, then there was Hlope and now this character. They certainly know how to pick them.
