Hewana appeared in the Parow Regional Court before magistrate Elsa van Zyl.

He was found not guilty on two other counts - conspiracy to commit perjury and interfering with police officials in the execution of their duties.

His trial stemmed from the arrest in November 2007 of Tony Yengeni, former chief whip of the African National Congress (ANC) on a charge of drunken driving.

In order to protect Yengeni, Hewana ordered the two arresting police officials to change the time of Yengeni's arrest from the early hours to 9pm that night.

This was because Yengeni had been on parole at the time and was not supposed to be out after 9pm.

The case continues with sentencing procedures.

So, if this is the case and there has been a cover up, what happens to Yengeni???? I presume nothing as he forms part of the ANC elite who could murder and would get away scot free.
This country is spiralling downhill fast!

Does this mean Yengeni will be returning to his old Cell???

We can expect this crooked cop to be promoted to Lootooli House for "looking out for their own"

Only dishonest people end up in Lootooli House!!

The more dishonest, the higher you climb and the view is alot better from your office...

nxila@thepub_with Schabir what about the story about the woman who, was booked into hospital for a caesarean and who labour was induced for a natural birth, the staff struggled to such an extent, (I heard one nurse actually sat on the woman's stomach to "help" her push), the child had both arms and its head ripped off,

or what about the child at birth - the staff couldn't be bothered to help the father who searched through a pile of 40 dead babies to find his deceased child?

Mmm, dead silence from the ANC sycophants. But plenty of inane comments and baseless accusations on the other articles.

The depth of skill, integrity, morals, and honesty in the ANC is about as deep as a puddle in a desert.

Of course Yengeni will be protected. What else do you expect from a gang of criminals.

You have GOT to be as dumb as mud to vote ANC.
