Vincent Charnley is also chief executive of Phambili Wasteman Group, which is accused of dumping the waste. He said yesterday that he would quit the institute until investigations into the alleged dumping were concluded.

The Sunday Times reported that the Green Scorpions, in a raid on Friday on a brick factory in Welkom, in the Free State, found at least 300 tons of used bandages and needles, vials and discarded pills that had been buried.

Gavin Brasher, owner of Maximus Bricks, has claimed that he was bribed by a company in competition with Phambili Wasteman Group.

Brasher's lawyer, Hannes Pyper, told The Times yesterday that his client "was promised R5-million" by a competing company "to take down the Wasteman Group".

The Wasteman Group and Phambili Wasteman, the country's second-largest waste management company, which has multimillion-rand contracts with more than 150 hospitals and clinics, face a criminal investigation after raids at Wasteman dumping sites.

Didn't know that the milkvans had the internet on board.

Look at your cronies in the ANC. As soon as they get bust doing something illegal, its a racist thing and they get deployed so they can steal from anpther dept until they get caught..... then it happens all over again. At least this guy decided to go down on his sword.

I hope both DA & Cope will be quick to comment (as they always do) in this barbaric acts which borders to demonic acts. My interest is on the attitude of the two sleeping partners, when a whites are at fault.

you need to keep informed, making such spurious statements WITHOUT ANY BASIS IN FACT.

The DA released a document on the Medical Waste industry SIX WEEKS AGO.

The ANC wake up on Monday, only after reading the paper.

Medical waste industry needs to be cleaned up

The discovery by the Green Scorpions of apparently the largest ever illegal medical waste dump in South Africa shows that the industry needs a drastic clean up. This case has emerged only six weeks after the DA released a discussion document on problems in the medical waste industry.

It's not for the amoebas that I post, but for the people who read the comments, but choose not to post. Haven't you noticed how we get someone jumping in every now and then when their frustrations get the better of them.

People need to know that sane voices do exist.

Furthermore, the moment we allow ourselves to get shouted down by the mob, we are lost.

I have a question for you. Why is it that the DA are always so far ahead of the ANC in anything, when they have so much fewer resources at their disposal?

Some examples:

Water Purification Plants: Identified and raised the problem 2 YEARS before the ANC realised there was a problem.

Specialised Policing Units: 2 and 1/2 YEARS before the ANC realised and admitted there was a problem.

Border Security: 3YEAR before the ANC realised there was a problem.

Electricity: 11 YEARS before the ANC realised there was a problem.

So I ask, how is it that a party with so little resources at their disposal can be right so much of the time, and years in advance of the ANC. Is it because they are a superior political party?

Use your vote wisely.

True Tallif..Lets see our white friends, the DA condemn and blame this on the ANC, like all the ills of this country are blamed on the ANC and Government.
