The trial of five men accused of stealing exam papers from Unisa’s Pretoria campus was postponed in the city's Magistrate's Court on Monday.

The matter was postponed to Tuesday so the addresses of four of the accused, who are Zimbabwean nationals, could be confirmed.

Blessing Tsodzo, 27, Simba Nicolas Chira, 23, Arnold Andy Chirare, 30, and Simbarashe Faya, 27, would remain in custody.

The fifth accused, Alton Mugadani Mashau, 27, was granted R500 bail.

The five were arrested last Tuesday after nine different exam papers were found in their possession.

They were believed to be students and tutors at private colleges in Pretoria, Captain Paul Ramaloko said after their arrest.

"We were following up on information about exam papers being sold [when we made the arrests]," Ramaloko said.
