Despite delays, the launch of Tshwane's first phase of the bus rapid transport system, A Re Yeng, is drawing closer.

City spokesman Selby Bokaba said the launch will be around July . The first phase will have seven stations - two in the CBD, three in Sunnyside and one each at Loftus Stadium and Hatfield.

Bokaba said the project was supposed to have been finished this month but there were a few kinks that delayed the process.

Gauteng DA t ransport spokesman Nico de Jager said Rea Vaya in Johannesburg had been a huge success, with figures showing that between 33000 and 35000 people used the buses every day.
