Phiyega: Police are on top of xenophobic issue

Over 800 police officers are currently dealing with xenophobic attacks in KwaZulu-Natal‚ National Police Commissioner Riah Phiyega said on Wednesday. Addressing media on the sidelines of the police portfolio committee‚ where she and her team were presenting their budget‚ Phiyega said more than 800 officers‚ some from other areas in the country‚ were currently deployed to deal with “the issue of instability in that area”.
