ANC adds insult to Sudanese genocide

By allowing Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir to evade justice the government showed contempt to a Pretoria High Court order, international law and the hundreds of thousands killed during the Darfur conflict. Netsanet Belay, Amnesty International's research and advocacy director for Africa, has noted: "It is completely unacceptable and shocking for South Africa, as a member of the International Criminal Court, to ignore its international obligations in this way and allow impunity free rein.
