Two guards, two robbers die in shootout

Two security guards and two robbers were killed in a shootout in Rosettenville yesterday after a heist gang hijacked a courier truck and its escort vehicle in Selby, south of Johannesburg. The truck, said a source, had about R4-million worth of cellphones and tablets. Police spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Katlego Mogale said the robbers then took the truck and car to Kibler Park, where they loaded the cargo into a white BMW and black Nissan Navara.
