School admissions to be finalised by October

The Gauteng education department will no longer process school admission applications at the beginning of the year. With over 84000 Grade 1s and 61397 Grade 8s placed so far, the department intends to place all pupils for the 2016 academic year by October. The department processed just over 20000 late applications in January this year.
