Socio-economic deprivation is contributing to high crime in the Western Cape, says community safety MEC Dan Plato. He said living conditions of Cape Town residents were a factor in rising crime."A lot more needs to happen, if we have the necessary financial resources available to do that. Houses get built, but [there are] not enough.
