Hold municipalities accountable for water pollution‚ says DA

Since April this year there have been 19 cases of waste water treatment works (WWTW) overflowing into water bodies‚ the Democratic Alliance said on Sunday. This had been revealed in replies to questions posed by the DA to the Minister of Water and Sanitation‚ Nomvula Mokonyane‚ it said.The responses had also revealed that the waste water treatment works in 90 municipalities across the country were considered high-risk.
