MTN plea for fine reduction

MTN Group will hold yet more discussions with the Nigerian authorities to try to further reduce a fine imposed on it for failure to cut off unregistered users of its service, a source familiar with the dispute said yesterday. The Nigerian Communications Commission has reduced the penalty to $3.4-billion (about R49-billion) from $5.
