R300m down the toilet

In a post-apartheid South Africa, municipalities have been under the microscope to see if they will maintain the high quality standard of water that South Africans have grown accustomed to. The Department of Water and Sanitation is going to pour R300-million into the refurbishment of 26 waste-water treatment works that discharge effluent into the Vaal River.
