Sars sniffer dog uncovers R500,000 worth of drugs at OR Tambo

A South African Revenue Service (Sars) Custom Control dog sniffed out two consignments of drugs worth more than R500,000 at OR Tambo International Airport on Monday. The first was 77 1kg blocks of compressed cannabis - valued at R107,800 – in a parcel “declared as Citronella Scented Wax Melts” en route to Budapest; the second was R484344 worth of heroin in the lining of a box filled with clothing destined to Amsterdam.
