Drought drowns in politics

Yes, the drought in South Africa is unlike any in modern-day history and certainly there are lives at stake. However, I view Operation Hydrate with cynicism and caution. The drought is of national importance and requires a national response.That certain communities appear to be the driving force, together with a hand-me-down Lotto donation of R50-million, smacks of political opportunism at its best.
