Babies' dummies and condoms contain 'cancerous' chemical

A chemical found in condoms and babies' dummies "probably causes cancer", according to world health chiefs, who ranked it alongside red meat as a possible carcinogen. The World Health Organisation said MBT - full name 2-mercaptobenzothiazole - was present in a wide range of rubber products, including condoms, babies' dummies, rubber gloves, soft playground surfaces made of "rubber crumb", elastic bands and car tyres.
